Bob and Ann Jones

Rowan has become our favorite guide for Jackson. His knowledge of the geology and history of the region is extensive along with identification of plant and animal species in this vast ecosystem. These qualifications are most important when visiting Jackson and Rowan has taught us more than any other guide. His charm and wit thrown in with a lot of humor make for a most enjoyable experience, whether on a Snake River float trip or a snow coach to the Yellowstone Park. Also our personal safety has never been and issue when traveling with Rowan as he is most cautious. Most importantly, Rowan has become a true friend.

Your guide will pick you up at 6 a.m. for a sunrise Grand Teton Wildlife Tour. Early morning is the time when the wildlife is most active and the mountains are magically lit for perfect photographs.

Afternoon

After the wildlife tour, you will lunch in Moose, WY.   Then we’ll travel down a scenic back road famous for moose sightings and arrive at Teton Village where fun activities abound. An aerial tram, lift access mountain biking, horseback riding, climbing walls, bungee trampolines and hiking make this a great end to a family’s day in the Grand Teton National Park.

On Day 2, we’ll return to Yellowstone and continue the eastern half of the “Grand Loop”. Be prepared for incredible views of the expansive Hayden Valley, the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Yellowstone Lake, and lots of wildlife. We’ll return to Jackson Hole through Grand Teton National Park in time for sunset photos.

Spend the day at Chico Hot Springs rafting, horseback riding, fishing or soaking in the warm pools. If you’d rather do more exploring, we’ll travel to Lamar Valley where we’ll look for moose, buffalo, bears and maybe a wolf!  We’ll return to Chico in time for a soak in the hot springs before dinner in the onsite 5 star restaurant

DAY THREE

Spend a day with renowned nature photographer Scott McKinley for a photo tour/seminar. The location will vary depending on what you would like to concentrate on most.  Scott will show you his secret spots and share his techniques for shooting that he’s developed over 30 years of photography. You’ll have lunch in the field, but be back in time for dinner in Jackson.

DAY TWO

On Day 2, get ready to get wet on Jackson Hole’s Snake River. First a sunrise scenic float will allow you to apply Scott’s photography lessons to the wildlife and scenery you’ll discover on this peaceful section of the river. After lunch in Moose, WY, you will be driven to Jackson to raft the white water of Snake River Canyon.  This raft trip is great fun for the entire family, as you splash through the rapids of the Snake. You will be back in town by late afternoon to shop and dine in historic Jackson.

DAY THREE

We’ll pick you up at 6 a.m. to head for Yellowstone National Park. This day will be the eastern side of the “Grand Loop of Yellowstone”  where you will see Old Faithful geyser followed by lunch at the historic Inn.  We’ll head to Mammoth Hot Springs passing plenty of bison, elk and bears on the route. You will dine and spend the night at historic Chico Hot Springs.

DAY FOUR

You willl start the morning with a trip into the Lamar Valley for prime wildlife spotting, and continue down to The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone to view the Lower Falls and have lunch. You’ll finish up the western side of the “Grand Loop” with a drive through the expansive Hayden Valley.  After an evening drive through Grand Teton National Park, you will arrive back in Jackson for dining and lodging.

DAY FIVE

Your last day will be a spent on a morning horseback ride through the beautiful Wyoming wilderness, where you will access stunning areas where no roads can take you.  We’ll have you back in Jackson in time for lunch and then a free afternoon perusing the shops around the famous “Jackson Town Square”.

Your guide will pick you up at 6 a.m. and you’ll head north from Jackson Hole through Grand Teton National Park.  We’ll lunch at Old Faithful after watching the geyser, then continue north to Mammoth Hot Springs. Finally up to Chico Hot Springs for dinner and lodging.

DAY TWO

You’ll have breakfast in Chico, then work you way back into the Park, stopping again at Mammoth Hot Springs. The main event for the day is the Lamar Valley looking for bears and wolves. Most of the day will be spent here to maximize your chances for wildlife viewing. A picnic lunch will be served out in the field. As the day winds down, you’ll return to Chico for dining and lodging. 

DAY THREE

On your final day, you will head to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River for a spectacular scenic overlook of the Lower Falls. You’ll have lunch around the Canyon area, then drive through a wildlife haven, the Hayden Valley, on the way back to Grand Teton National Park. Your guide will then finish the day with an evening Grand Teton Tour and you’ll be back in Jackson Hole for dinner.
