Whitewater Rafting the Salt River Arizona
Discover America's other Grand Canyon Adventure
Salt River Rafting LLC is the only whitewater outfitter that specializes in guided raft adventures in the Upper Salt River Canyon of Arizona. Rafting season is during the spring time runoff from March through May of the White Mountains of the Fort Apache Indian Reservation and a short drive from Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. This is the only professionally guided whitewater trip in the world which runs through the Sonoran Desert. Saguaro cactus, sunny springtime weather, Class III and IV rapids, and lots of smiles is our forte.
Our premier trip is the 52 mile, 3-5 day raft trip into the 1984 federally designated Salt River Canyon Wilderness. Managed to protect its outstanding wilderness values, group size is limited to a maximum of 15 people. With over 200 species of birds, desert big horn sheep and Gila monsters, multiple class IV rapids such as Quartzite falls, and geology on the scale of the Grand Canyon, this is one of the premier multi-day raft trips in the U.S. Please find exhaustive informational resources at our website www.RaftTheSalt.com.

You don't need to travel far to have a wilderness white-water experience. Just north of Globe Arizona, you can spend a spring day running the rapids through the Salt River Canyon. When we were on the river, there were families and kids of all ages. Our guides gave us excellent instruction and encouragement. Just before the final rapids, we stopped for a riverside cookout.
