Rowan Laing is our guide choice for the Jackson Hole and Yellowstone area. My wife and I have traveled extensively in the United States and abroad. We have hired many tour guides in our travels. Jackson Hole is one of our favorite destinations. We have been visiting Jackson since 1984 and used various tour services with professional guides.
Rowan has become our favorite guide for Jackson. He is a most intelligent individual with a plethora of information of the area. His knowledge of the geology and history of the region is extensive along with identification of plant and animal species in this vast ecosystem. These qualifications are most important when visiting Jackson and Rowan has taught us more than any other guide. His charm and wit thrown in with a lot of humor make for a most enjoyable experience, whether on a Snake River float trip or a snow coach to the yellowstone park. Also our personal safety has never been and issue when traveling with Rowan as he is most cautious. Most importantly, Rowan has become a true friend. His compassion for humanity and passion of God’s natural wonders has led us to love this jovial man
Luckily for me, when I met Rowan, I had already arranged for my first solo camping trip to Jackson Hole. I was a recent widow and needed the challenge and experience of a new way to travel. I settled on camping with my dog. Rowan had given my his card, I booked a trip with VIP Travel, and many wonderful, new outdoor experiences followed.
I could fill pages telling you about the things that I got to do either with or because of Rowan, but I’ll limit it to what I consider to be the most memorable. After a few years of visiting Jackson, I convinced my 85 year-old mother that she really had to come to Jackson, and she did. I camped and she stayed in hotels. That year, Rowan obtained a flat-bottom boat for my mom’s ease getting in and out, and he rowed us down the Snake River for 16 miles all through Grand Teton National Park. It was a magical day. The scenery, the wildlife, the weather, and the company will never be forgotten. My mom fell ill the following spring and passed away that summer, and right up to the end, she and I were still talking about that trip together, and that day in particular.

The last week in May 2011, my husband and I and another couple came to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone Park for our vacation. We spent two days in Yellowstone Park and at the suggestion from the concierge at our Hotel in Jackson (The Wort Hotel) we used a private tour service called VIP Adventure Travel with Mr. Rowan Laing as our guide. We spent an incredible, unforgetable day with our guide, stopping at the most beautiful sites that we have ever seen. We learned about the hot spots, the mud holes, the geysers, the volcanos under the surface, the wildlife and ecosystem that sustains the beauty of the land. We never would have seen the “off the beaten path” sites or been privy to the education of what created this heavenly place,unless we had this individual tour in complete comfort (even stopping for a delightful lunch!!) This is a day we will never forget and was a once in a lifetime chance to use our time to the best advantage. It was more than worth it and we highly recommend it….especially our guide, Rowan Laing, who obviously loves his job and does it with charm and wit….Do it!!!!!
